Essent Biologics offers a variety of human primary cells for research use. Our products include low-passaged, highly-characterized human mesenchymal stem cells (hMSCs), placental stem cells (PSCs), microvascular endothelial cells (MVECs), and macrophages.
These multipotent cells can be used in the study of cell differentiation, tissue engineering, drug discovery and cell-based therapies. Our customers are delighted to use stem cells to create spheroids, induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs), microfluidic chips (organs-on-a-chip) and complex in vitro models.
Since each lot of stem cells are derived from a single donor, our team also provides a tissue biopsy for researchers to further characterize their source material.
Essent Origin Sample™ can be added to any cell order, enabling genetic, proteomic and transcriptomic analyses of the source material.

Our stem cells are derived from donated human tissue, where donors can be living or deceased. Tissue donation represents a gift from the donor and the donor family.
All potential tissue donors undergo a comprehensive screening that includes a physical assessment, medical history and social risk review. Tissue is recovered, and tests are performed on blood and tissue samples to screen for disease and microbiological infection. Testing includes screens for HIV, Hepatitis B and C, and syphilis.
