Human Mesenchymal Stem Cells (hMSCs) are a class of multipotent stem cells capable of differentiation to some cell types that naturally originate from the mesoderm. They exist in a variety of tissues such as umbilical cord, bone marrow, placental and adipose.
In addition to having multi-lineage plasticity, these stem cells have a unique secretory profile with anti-inflammatory properties. For these reasons and more, these cells are attractive both for research and therapeutics within the regenerative medicine and tissue engineering fields.
Donors used for GMP products undergo serological testing for HIV-1, Hepatitis B, and Hepatitis C. A Certificate of Analysis and donor data can be provided for each cell lot purchased.
Essent’s Wharton’s Jelly-derived hMSCs are characterized for identity, purity, viability, expansion potential, and functionality in vitro (differentiation and immunomodulatory potential).
